Bailey
The following
is a short narrative on our rescue, Bailey Ashworth Allen Hurwitz.
Hope it's not too wordy!!
A fluffy 9 month old Bailey arrived at our home on
March 6, 1999. Bailey lived
with his human mom and dad in an apartment in Manhattan and had special
relationships with the doorman, his dog-walker, and several street
venders. His mom took him to puppy class and doggy play time at the
park. Unfortunately one of
the apartment neighbors didn't have any love for Bailey and made life
miserable for his mom and dad. Due
to several reasons, (abuse not being one of them) the owners felt it would
be better for Bailey to live with a family in a house with a fenced yard. His former owners, who loved him very much, tearfully drove
him from New York City to Ellicott City, MD. We had a wonderful visit with
Bailey's mom and dad who came with baby pictures, puppy food, treats,
crate, and toys. Everything
to make Bailey's adjustment to our home as easy as possible.
Bailey is now 14 months old and has a
"big-boy" haircut. He loves running in the yard and walking the
neighborhood or around the lake with his mom, Barb.
Bailey and dad, Bob, have a special relationship.
Bailey anxiously greets Bob when he arrives home from work, as he
knows a little special game playing is in store when Dad gets home.
We are pleased with the progress Bailey has
made since living with us. He's
a sweet boy who is full of puppy antics and always ready and willing to
provide wonderful "wheaten kisses".
We love him dearly and we're grateful he's now part of our family.
